Satellite Downlink
Cal Poly offers numerous satellite downlink options. If
the downlink is for viewing only, any cable-equipped room
on campus can be used for viewing the program. However
if the downlink requres voice communication for questions/feedback,
one of the campus multimedia
presentation rooms is required. There are no facility
or distribution charges for scheduled classes or department-sponsored
events; however some broadcast content providers do charge
for registration.
In order to provide the best service to our satellite downlink users please do the following:
- Contact the originators of the satellite broadcast to find out the technical specifications about the program. What are the coordinates of the satellite? What date, time, and how long? Is there a charge?
- Contact MDS, Henry France, at 756-7199 between 8am - 5pm to give us the information at least 48 hours ahead of time. This service is offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
