Classroom Equipment
Types of Classrooms:
General Purpose Classrooms
(GPC) are the most common room on campus. They come standard
with a TV, VCR, and transparency projector. Requests for
quarter installation of tapeplayers, CD players, and DVD players may be made
as well. Visit our Classroom Locator page.
SmartRooms (SR) allow faculty
and students to connect a laptop to our SmartPanel system
so that presentations may be made for all to see. Videos
and DVDs may be shown using the projection
system as well. Visit our Classroom Locator page.
Multimedia Classrooms (MMC)
are the most equiped rooms with PC and Mac computers,
a video projection system, as well as a VCR/ DVD player. Faculty members scheduled in Multimedia
Classrooms will be provided with a computer account so
that files and settings will be retained throughout the
quarter. Visit our Classroom Locator page. .
Video in the Classroom:
Video Distribution is a service MDS provides where
you can request a video be shown from our Building 2
Media Resource Center. For instance, a faculty member
showing a video in multiple classes can have MDS broadcast
it over the cable system so they don't have to worry
about taking the tape from classsroom to classroom and
becoming familiar with the equipment in each room.
